Last year we had a huge success with our youth development program. We had over 35 young boys and girls playing year round with a couple players competing at the next level. We are looking forward to another great year and getting more players out to play. This year the league will be on the indoor full field turf facility in Parker, Colorado. We have the facility for 11 sessions through March at which point we will move outdoors to Kent Denver turf field for the April and May sessions. This primary goal of this program is to teach young players the skills and love for the sport of field hockey. Coaches will focus on the fundamental skills and rules for the game in a fun learning atmosphere. Each session is in a clinic format with skill development followed by game playing. Skill development will be age and physical ability appropriate. Several coaches will be on hand to coach. Our secondary goal is to prepare young players to compete at the California Cup tournament in CA. The tournament is not required, but if we have enough interest it is a great tournament and the only one in the nation that provides a U9 and U12 division. Young players from around the nation travel to this tournament and have a wonderful time. The atmosphere is fun and really promotes the sport.
